Mi Cielo
By Joan — for the ones who bring us Peace
There are people who come into your life like a breath of fresh air.
They don’t raise their voices or demand space — they just are.
He asks questions like,
“What would I love about you?”
And waits for the real answer.
I smiled, thinking of something playful —
Maybe my curves, my humor, my fire.
But deep down, I knew what he meant.
He was asking about my soul.
So I answered honestly:
“My strength. And my will.”
Because those are the parts of me that survived everything.
He paused.
And he said I was an inspiration.
That I was resilient.
And he smiled.
We met on a plane — flying toward different places,
but orbiting the same energy.
He gave me space to be still.
He held my stories without rushing to fix them.
Something about him felt calm — like a safe space.
He saw my art, my sense of humor.
We talked for hours.
We stayed connected.
Laughed.
Shared stories.
He loved my honesty — how raw I speak.
He doesn’t have to guess what I mean.
He calls me cariño.
I call him Mi Cielo —
My Heaven. My Peace.
My safe place. My Heaven on Earth.
He reminds me to be patient with myself.
To be myself always.
I feel free.
I feel safe.
I feel understood.
I feel loved.
I think he understood more than my words.
He understood me.
And even a few hours away,
He’s a reminder that I’m not alone anymore.
That patience and safety can wear a smile.
That healing sometimes starts with being held — not judged.
